Excellency Academy stood unbeaten after handing Krida Prabodhini a 4-1 defeat to claim the inaugural Ajit Dada Chashak Hockey Tournament 2018 at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, here on Sunday.

The title was their second back-to-back win having claimed the Late Hussain Nabi Hockey title a little over a week ago,
The winners were aided by a hat-trick by their skipper and former India international Yuvraj Walmiki. Leading from the front, Yuvraj struck his team’s second goal (25th minute) after to open his act.

Excellency who began on the defensive after Krida Prabodhini came on strongly went ahead through Harsh Parmar (21st) and along with his skipper gave his team a 2-0 cushion at the half way stage.

In the second half, Krida Prabodhini pulled one back through Rais Mayuwar (35th), but then Yuvraj (39th) with a reverse hit between the legs of Krida Prabodhini’s Jeevan Shinde and a 57th minute angular finish helped his team seal the title.

For Balewadi-based Krida Prabodhini this was the second loss to Excellency Academy in as many tournaments. Earlier they lost in the semi-finals of the Hussain Nabi Tournament.
