DY Patil College, APS advance in Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament

Pune: Dr. DY Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi and Army Public School romped into the league stage of the College and Junior Boys sections respectively registering facile wins in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament, here on Wednesday.

In the morning session at the Hedgewar ground, DY Patil led by Immad Balroo’s four-goal effort (4th, 18th, 19th, 31st minutes) put aside ASM CSIT 6-1. The other two scorers for the winners were Abhishek Bochare (20th) and Nilesh Dubey (36th). ASM CSIT pulled one back through Arnav Das (48th).

Later, in the Junior Boys section, Army Public School had an easy outing defeating Good Shepherd School 5-0. A superb hat-trick by Shushant Phalke (28th, 32nd & 56th minutes) led the Army march with Shubham Chavan (17th) and Shwetanshu Ghodke (22nd) also making their presence felt on the score sheet.

In another College Boys encounter, Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering Management & Research, Ambi put aside PES Modern College of Pharmacy 7-0, while St. Ursula’s High School got the better of Beacon High School 6-0.

Junior Boys: Army Public School bt Good Shepherd School 5-0; St. Ursula’s High School b Beacon High School 6-0
Senior boys: Poona College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Camp bt SM Choksey Junior College 5-1
College Boys: Dr. DY Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi bt ASM CSIT 6-1; Dr. DY Patil Institute. Of Engineering Management & Research, Ambi bt PES Modern College Of Pharmacy 7-0; IMED Pune bt Sinhgad College of Engineering 2-0; Sir Parshurambhai College bt BVDU College of Architecture 6-1.
