DG boys secure third place

Atre sparkled with great composure on show, with 12 points to add to a few crucial rebounds to his name. He was well supported by Meet Munot, who had 10 points of his own. 

PUNE: Megh Atre and Meet Munot combined to a great effect to help Deccan Gymkhana ‘Á’ beat Balaji Basketball Acedamy 47-38 to clinch third place in the Late Rajabhau Chitale Memorial Under-13 Basketball Tournament being played at Deccan Gymkhana basketball courts on Friday.

Atre sparkled with great composure on show, with 12 points to add to a few crucial rebounds to his name. He was well supported by Meet Munot, who had 10 points of his own. 

Leading by 3 points after the first quarter, Deccan Gymkhana team were leading by 3 points, but kept extending their advantage with more conversions and water-tight defence. 

In the girls event, Chondhe Patil Basketball Academy beat Abhinava Eng School 28-12 to secure third place finish on Friday.

Pranali Patukale had 14 points, which was well backed up by Manasi Nimbalkar with 9 points. At half time, they were leading 9-6 and kept extending their lead all the time.

Boys: Deccan Gymkhana ‘A’ 47 ( Megh Atre 12 , Meet Munot 10 ) beat Balaji Basketball Acedamy 38 ( Shivam Manchanda 11 , Rachit Agarwal 10 )
