Dastur girls emerge victorious

Pune: Sardar Dastur girls defeated St Mary’s School 44-43 to clinch the title of the 8th Late Rajabhau Chitale Memorial Under-13 District Basketball Championship which concluded at the Deccan Gymkhana basketball court on Tuesday.

The match was close right from the start as baskets kept coming in from both the teams. The score at half time read 16-17 with St Mary’s leading.

For Sardar Dastur, Tanvi Salve scored 17 points while Ashlesha Gote scored 14 points followed by Devanshi Lunavat who added 5 points to the tally.

For St Mary’s, Shweta Deshpande top scored with  16 points. Meanwhile, Shambhavi Shinde (11) and Arusha Navani (8) added to the scoreline respectively.   

In the boys final, Millennium Club beat Vidyanchal School 45-43 in a thrilling encounter. The half time score read 14-19 in favour of Vidyanchal. For Millennium, Aryan Limaye scored 10 points while Yash Pandit scored 14 points followed by Aaryaraj Bhosale who scored 9 points.

For Vidyanchal, Kunal Bhosale scored 14 points while Farid Sayyed added 12 points to the tally.

Girls: Sardar Dastur School 44 (Tanvi Salve 17, Ashlesha Gote 14, Devanshi Lunavat 5) beat St Mary’s High School 43 (Shweta Deshpande 16, Shambhavi Shinde 11, Arusha Navani 8)  Half-time 16-17. 
Boys: Millennium Club 45 (Aryan Limaye 10, Yash Pandit 14, Aaryaraj Bhosale 9) beat Vidyanchal High School ‘A’ 43 (Kunal Bhosale 14, Farid Sayyed 12, Shardul Pathak 9) Half -time 14-19.
