Dani helps New York University to clinch iSET College Nat’l TT Championship

Part of a formidable team that also featured US Olympian Yijun Feng and US National Team member Adar Alguetti, Mudit, a freshman, won two crucial games that carried his team into the final. 

MUMBAI: Mumbai’s Mudit Dani put up a stellar performance to help New York University create history by winning the 2018 iSET College National Table Tennis Championships in Round Rock, Texas for the first time ever late on Sunday.

Part of a formidable team that also featured US Olympian Yijun Feng and US National Team member Adar Alguetti, Mudit, a freshman, won two crucial games that carried his team into the final. 

The New York University began on a strong note, beating University of Texas 3-0 in their opening encounter. In their next clash, against University of Berkley, Mudit played his first match and comfortably beat Jordan Yee to take his team into the last four.

In the semifinals, they took on the University of Mississippi, the 2015 champions who have incredibly won 13 of the last 14 editions. Yijun Feng won his opening singles but Adar Alguetti came undone against Xiang He, losing in straight games.
