CPBA wins U-16 basketball opener

Chondhe Patil Basketball Academy were in control of the game right from the start as they led with a score of 30-4 at helf time.

PUNE: Chondhe Patil Basketball Academy (CPBA) defeated Ideal ‘B’ 42-7 to win with ease on the first day of the  7th Late Sanjay Mahadeo Nimhan Memorial Youth Under-16 District Basketball Championship which commenced at Deccan Gymkhyana basketball courts on Friday.

Chondhe Patil Basketball Academy were in control of the game right from the start as they led with a score of 30-4 at helf time.

Saee  Brahmankar (10) and Lubha Chordiya (8) struck for the academy while  Janhavi Phadke managed to score 3 points for Ideal.

In another match Millennium School defeated All Star 31-18 to advance further. For Millennium, Atmaja Dani scored 16 points while Shruti Mengde scored 7 points. For All Star, Shambhavi Mahajan scored 5 points.

Meanwhile SPM ‘B’ defeated Dire Wolves 19-18 in a close fixture. For SPM, Aarya Bhate and Priyanka Paygude scored 6 points each while Samruddhi Desai (9) and Owee Gadkari (6) struck for Dire Wolves.

Boys: Falcons 42 (Shivraj Kokate 13, Kunal Inamdar 8) bt DG ‘B’ 22 (Pushkar Parnekar 14) Half-time 12-8l; Balaji Basketball Acedamy 49 (Ayush Singh 10, Kushagra Patil 17) bt Dire Wolves 14 (Avanish Maleppillil 7) Half-time 33- 6.
