City-based Sukant Kadam bags gold and silver in Brazil debut

Pune: City-based World No.2 Sukant Kadam did India proud claiming the Brazil Para-Badminton International 2018 men’s singles ‘SL 4’ title on debut. He also won silver in the men’s doubles at the event held at In Sao Paulo.

In the singles final, the Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) trainee had it easy against unseeded countryman Anand Kumar Boregowda 21-14, 21-14 in an 18-minute encounter. Seeded No 1 for the event, Sukant downed No. 3 Tim Haller (Germany) 21-6, 21-16 in the semi-finals.
