Chhillar wants to add cherry to debutant Haryana’s campaign

Pune: Taking every opportunity as a stepping stone to accomplish himself in kabaddi, Mohit Chhillar has taken his game to a different level to become most feared defender in kabaddi arena.

The seasoned campaigner is all pumped up to play the role of senior player in the newly formed Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5, which starts on July 28.

“Whole team is new. I know Surender Nada from long but rest all have come from different teams, Our coach and support staff is helping us lot and training is going nicely,” said Mohit Chhillar in an exclusive interaction with Sakal Times.

“There are many new faces in our team. They are very talented and practicing hard in the camp.”

Starting Pro Kabaddi League journey with U Mumba, Mohit was picked by Bengaluru Bulls in the Season 4 for the amount of Rs 53 lakhs.
“My first aim would be to give best for my team. I am working on my performance and there will be many new things which you will see from my side in the upcoming season” said Chhillar.

Harayna team is also boosted with the players like Sonu Narwal, Surjeet Singh, Wazir Singh, all raiders, and Jeeva Gopal, the defender.

“The players who has experienced of playing Pro Kabaddi League will play big role as they will not only have take care about their performance but also guide new boys.”

Options aplenty
“I think every player will get a chance to be in playing seven as tournament will run 13 weeks. Best part of our team is that we have two players for every position. This adds flexibility to the team if any player gets injured we have player who can replace him straightaway.”

Fitness is key
With four new teams and a long season, players will be also doing lot of travelling as there are 12 different venues where matches will take place.
“Season 5 will be different than previous seasons and most important aspect will be fitness. Even at camp we are more focussed on fitness even a small injury need to be addressed early,” added Chhillar.
