Cahir, Soha cause upsets to move into semi-final

In the boys quarterfinals, sixth seeded Thane boy Cahir Warik upset second seeded Rushil Khosla of Uttar Pradesh 6-2, 6-2

PUNE: Cahir Warik of Maharashtra and Soha Singh of Karnataka caused upsets to move into the semi-finals of  the 12th Ramesh Desai Memorial Sub-Junior Tennis Nationals for boys and girls in the Under-12 category in progress at GA Ranade Tennis Complex in Mumbai on Thursday.

In the boys quarterfinals, sixth seeded Thane boy Cahir Warik upset second seeded Rushil Khosla of Uttar Pradesh 6-2, 6-2 while in the girls section, fifth seeded Soha Singh of Karnataka upset fourth seeded Malishka Kuramu of Telangana 4-6, 6-2, 6-3  to move into the last four stage. 

Top seeded Shruti Ahlawat of Haryana, third seeded Chandni Srinivasan of Gujarat, sixth seeded Tejasvi Dabas of Delhi were the other girls who made it to the semi-finals with facile wins.

In the boys singles, West Bengal’s tenth seeded Rohan Agarwal, third seeded Harsh Fogaat of Delhi and fourth seeded Manas Dhamne of Maharashtra were the other players to make it to the last four stage.
