Boy’s and girl’s team qualify for football and basketball finals respectively

Pune: Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar football and basketball teams fashioned exciting wins to storm in the finals, in the 29th All Maharashtra Anglo-Indian Schools tournament, at the Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali on Monday.

Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar endured stiff resistance before snatching a hard-earned 1-0 win over Bombay Scottish (Powai), Mumbai to advance to the Secondary football championship round. Bishop’s will face Campion, Mumbai in the final as a hat-trick by striker Aaryan Majumdar steered Campion to a 3-0 semi-final win over St. Peter’s, Mazagaon.

Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar took their first significant shot at goal when Dhev Rao’s effort sailed over the bar in the first half. Rohan Chirayath scored the match-winner soon after half time and Arjun Jhachak headed wide off a corner while the Mumbai side were under pressure.

In basketball, Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar romped to a brilliant 54-31 win over Bishop’s School, Camp in a thriller, on a rewarding day.
