Pune: Shuvra Bhaduri and Sainath Shinde hit ample runs on a balmy and overcast day as Maersk and Infosys scored impressive wins and qualified for the quarterfinals from their respective groups in the FLAME University Corporate Cricket T20 League 2018 managed by Triumph Events at the FLAME University Campus in Lavale on Sunday.
Maersk chased a challenging total posted by Yardi in a Group C league match thanks to opener Shuvra Bhaduri’s 43-ball 62 and his first wicket partnership worth 70 runs in tandem with Vaibhav Mahadik (12).
Put in to bat, Yardi was propped up by Amit Radkar (39-39b, 3x4), Swapnil Ghatge (46-29b, 8x4) and Parth Shah (28-30b, 3x4) as they built up on 69-run first wicket stand to pile on the runs. But once openers Radkar and Ghatge returned to the pavilion, Yardi’s scoring rate dipped, but they still managed to cross 150-run mark.
Maesrk found their trump card in Bhaduri as he hit 7 fours and 1 six to accelerate the chase before Prasad Girkar (28-25b, 2x4, 1x6) and Tushar Deshpande (18) mopped up the required runs to bring about two-wicket win.
Maersk is now on 4 points from two matches as does Persistent, while Yardi finished their league engagements without winning any match.
