Bengal and Mumbai win

Chennai: Bengal Warriors and U Mumba scored victories on the last day of the Inter Zone Challenge week at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.

In the first match, a magical raid from Maninder Singh in the last five seconds saw Bengal Warriors snatch a 32-31 victory from Jaipur Pink Panthers.

The score was 31-all when Maninder Singh started to raid, Jaipur defenders made no mistake and tackled him successfully but Maninder had already touched ‘Bonus line’ which was confirmed by TV umpire as joy erupted in Bengal’s den.

Jaipur who had a 18-13 lead at the end of the 21st minute let it slip in the last ten minutes. Their raiders and defenders failed to score points in tandem whereas Maninder alone brought back his team into the game.

Meanwhile Tamil Thalaivas yet again failed to deliver the winning punch as they went down 30-33 against U Mumba.
