Arya wins Junior badminton title

Pune: Local boy Arya Bhivpathaki defeated Akshan Shetty 21-7, 21-12 to win the title in the Junior State Selection Badminton Tournament held in Karad.

Final match turned out to be an easy affair for Arya as he won it easily.
Earlier, in the semi-final, Arya had to sweat hard to outclass Rishabh Deshpande 21-14, 21-17.

Arya had it much easier in the quarter-fnal where he defeated Deep Rambhiya 21-16, 21-12.

Over 550 boys and girls from all over Maharashtra had participated in the tournament.

This was Arya’s second title after he won first State selection title in Parbhani last month.

In Parbhani also, Arya came out with a brilliant preformance and did not face any trouble to claim the title.

Arya played outstanding badminton throughout the tournament with combination of wonderful rallies and fantastic accuracy of attacking shots, beating his all opponents in straight two games only.

Top seeded Arya was the Invitational player of Maharashtra Badminton Association for the tournament.

Results:
Quarterfinal: bt Deep Rambhiya 21-16, 21-12.
semifinal: bt Rishabh Deshpande 21-14, 21-17.
Final: bt  Akshan Shetty 21-7, 21-12.
