Sakal Media Group honours women achievers

Mumbai: Sakal Media Group felicitated women achievers for challenging feats achieved in their respective careers by giving them ‘Sakal Woman Impact Award’ at a glittering ceremony held at CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Vashi, on Friday evening. 

The programme began with Ganesh Vandana presented by actress Teja Devkar. On this occasion, Mrunal Pawar, Director of Sakal Media Group, felicitated actress Sonalee Kulkarni. 

Actress Rajashri Deshpande received an award from MLA Manda Mhatre. Pune-based Sarubai Waghmare was presented an award by Amit and Swati Wadhwani of Sai Estate Consultants. Varsha Bhagat was felicitated by corporator Meera Patil. 

While sharing her thoughts about this Woman Impact Award, Pawar said, “In our journey of  getting connected with various sections of society through our platforms like Tanishka, YIN and Madhurangan, time and again, we realised the power of women in all spheres of society. Sakal Media Group decided to felicitate such incredibly empowered women who are putting their efforts together to make our tomorrow better,” she added.

The award ceremony saw glittering performances by renowned actresses Bhargavi Chirmule, Sonalee Kulkarni, Teja Devkar, singer Vaishali Samant, Juili Joglekar, Mangesh Borgaonkar and mimicry artiste Sneha Ahire. A dance performance by Tanvi Palkar on famous song, ‘Lallati Bhandari’ from film Jogva, entertained the spectators. 

THE BIG WINNERS
- Clean Energy Award: Nilima Babar awarded by Navi Mumbai Commissioner N Ramaswami. 
- Responsible Production Award : Manisha Dhatrak awarded by Mrs India Amruta More. 
- Bharati Award: Smita Parchure awarded by Alankrit Rathod of Infratech. 
- Education Award: Savita Deshpande awarded by Mandakini Mhatre, Deputy Mayor of Navi Mumbai. 
- Sustainable Community Award: Meena Shaha from Kolhapur awarded by Manasi Parulekar of Orion Mall. 
- Innovation Start Up Award: Anandibai Bodhankar awarded by Meera Patil (could not attend this function due to some unforeseen circumstances).
