Youth prints fake currency notes watching YouTube videos, held

Pune: The sleuths from the Crime Branch of Pune city police have solved four cases including printing of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) by a youth, who had learnt the trick from YouTube videos, murder and weapon recovery.

Acting on a tip-off received by constable Shankar Sampate of Crime Branch Unit 4, the cops arrested Sohel Salim Shaikh, a resident of Dehu Road.  DCP (Crime) Shirish Sardeshpande said, “The accused used to print Rs 200 notes after watching YouTube videos. We have seized seven such notes.”

PI Anjum Bagwan added, “The accused had been doing this activity for the last 15 days. He used to buy chocolates, biscuits etc., from small shops run by elderly persons, women, who could not differentiate fake notes from genuine ones.”
