Youth drowned in Bhushi dam

Pune: A 26-year-old youth from Nanded drowned in Bhushi dam of Lonavla on Sunday evening. The deceased, Tirupati Ullewad was working in Pune and had gone out with his friends to  Lonavla. 

As per the police, Tirupati had gone to Bhushi dam along with his friends. He entered the dam water for a swim but drowned. The incident took place at 4.30 pm. Local residents tried to find him but in vain.

As per the police, Tirupati had gone to Bhushi dam along with his friends. He entered the dam water for a swim but drowned. The incident took place at 4.30 pm. Local residents tried to find him but in vain. 

The police were informed about the incident and a search operation was launched. At 5.30 pm the police were successful in locating Tirupati’s body. This is the first case of drowning in the dam this monsoon. Although there are warning boards, people tend to risk their lives.
