You can show SMS to pay your power bill

Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has taken another step to provide better facilities to their consumers. The authority said that consumers can show the SMS and pay their bill if they don’t receive the bill.

According to the officials of the department, they received complaints from consumers about not receiving the bill on time. So they are forced to pay their bill after the due date. The department has now decided that SMS received by the consumer on their mobile phones can be shown at the payment counter and the bill can be paid.

“More than 1.39 crore consumers have registered their mobile numbers with MSEDCL. On the generation of electricity bills, consumers get an SMS. In the SMS, all the basic information required for accepting the bill, such as consumer number, bill amount, due date, etc. is available. With this, bill payment will be accepted at any authorised cash collection centre,” said PS Patil, Chief Public Relations Officer of MSEDCL.
