World’s 13 out of 15 cities with highest temp on Sat from India!
Among 15 cities across the globe which reported the highest temperature on Saturday, 13 are from India, according to the El Dorado Weather site. Out of these 13, about seven cities are from Maharashtra where Akola tops the list with temperature recorded at 46.7 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Pune recorded 42.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature was five degrees above normal. The night temperature was also 4.7 degrees Celsius more than normal at 25.9 degree Celsius.
As per IMD, Pune city will continue to reported day temperature as high as 41 degrees Celsius till April 29. After which, the day temperature may reduce to 38 degree Celsius till May 3. In the coming week, the sky may remain partly cloudy.
With the current heatwave conditions across the State, various other cities are also experiencing a rise in the day temperature. As predicted by the Met department, the heatwave conditions may continue in parts of the State till April 30.
Speaking to Sakal Times, Anupam Kashyapi, Head of Weather at IMD Pune, said that heatwave situation is in Pune and Maharashtra for April 28 and April 29. “In some parts of Vidarbha, scattered heatwave is predicted with a severe heatwave at isolated places. In parts of north madhya Maharashtra, we have forecast heatwave in some parts, also in south madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada as well at isolated areas till April 29,” said Kashyapi.
He further added that Pune is now under heatwave condition with a warm night that is the minimum temperature departure from normal was 4.5 degrees Celsius or more.
“Now, less moisture is coming in from southern parts of State and the temperature is very high so afternoon time there will be medium level cloud formation. And hence, IMD has predicted chances of a partly cloudy condition in parts of afternoon hours with very light rain at isolated areas over south Maharashtra even for Pune district after April 29.
Chance of gusty wind at 30 to 40 kmph with lightning towards the afternoon hours at isolated areas of south of Maharashtra and also in Pune after April 29,” said Kashyapi.
Further, as per IMD, the heatwave situation also prevailed at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha till May 1.
According to IMD, till May 1 heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over Assam and Meghalaya.
Thunderstorm accompanied with hail, lightning and gusty wind at isolated places very likely over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh during the same time.
