Workshop on making FPOs competitive today

Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) under Ministry of Agriculture and Family Welfare, Pune has organised a national workshop on ‘Making Farmer Producers’ Organisations (FPO): Smart, Competitive and Sustainable’ on September 20.

Pune: Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) under Ministry of Agriculture and Family Welfare, Pune has organised a national workshop on ‘Making Farmer Producers’ Organisations (FPO): Smart, Competitive and Sustainable’ on September 20.

The workshop is designed to understand grassroot level issues of FPOs and to arrive at a resolution mechanism to make these emerging rural agri-business hubs, smart, competitive and sustainable. The workshop is structured with three technical sessions consisting of Smart Technology for Smart FPOs, Funding of FPOs and Innovative Approaches for Value addition and Market Linkages.

It will provide FPOs/FPCs a platform to learn from the experience of other FPOs and interact with agri-input and marketing companies and financial organisations. An exhibition has been organised where these farm producers can showcase their products.

The final outcomes of this workshop will be an actionable roadmap to be presented to Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of State of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for action by the Central government. 
Ramesh Chand, member of NITI Aayog and Sudhir Kumar Goel (Retd) IAS, will chair the panel discussions. Other panelists are Kamal Kumar from Dhanuka Agritech, Surendra Singh, Technical advisor of AMMA, India, Venkatkrishna, COO, Nabkisan, NABARD and others. 

The conference will be attended by 400 delegates consisting FPOs’ representatives, agencies promoting FPOs, policy makers, banks etc.
