Worker dies at construction site, builder booked by cops

A part of the hillock, where the site is located, caved in, after which three workers were stuck under the debris. 

Pune: The Kondhwa police have registered an FIR against the owner and supervisor of the  Home Corp and Associates, in connection with the death of a worker at their construction site on Friday. 

The accused have been identified as Nikhil Rajendra Modani (27) of Bibvewadi, Samir Vijay Datta (32) of Kalyani Nagar and Amar Sampati Birajdar (35) of Ambegaon Khurd. 

The incident took place at around 11 am on Friday near Dorabjee Mall, off NIBM Road in Kondhwa, after a hillock caved in. 

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Iqbal (22), a native of 
Uttar Pradesh.

They were immediately taken to the hospital, but Iqbal was declared dead, while his fellow worker, Sanjeeb Sikdar, was discharged after treatment. All the workers left the site after the mishap. 

The police said that the safety norms were flouted at the site. 

The FIR has been registered for offences under sections 304a (causing death due to negligence) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Police Sub-Inspector AM Sonawane is further  investigating the case.
