Women from different fields to be felicitated during Navratri

Pune: On the occasion of Navaratri, Shri Mahalaxmi temple near Sarasbaug has organised various events from September 21 to 30 to felicitate talented women. The event will be inaugurated by Police Commissioner Rashmi Shukla. 

‘Shri Mahalaxmi Mandir’ app has been developed by the committee of the mandir, through which the devotees can make advance booking to conduct mahapuja at the temple. Bharat Agarwal, Trustee of  Shri Mahalaxmi Mandir, said, “CCTV cameras have been installed at the premises of the temple.”

On September 22, around 15,000 students will recite the Shri Sukta and Atharvashirsha. Women police officers will be felicitated on September 23. Children of farmers who committed suicide will chant the prayers on September 24 and they will be provided with stationery as a token from the organisers. 

The women conservancy staff of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will be felicitated on September 25, while orphans and 300 students from PMC schools will also be awarded on September 26. On September 27, visually impaired students will chant the prayers. 

On September 29, teachers of physically challenged students will be honoured.
