Woman loses Rs 38K to debit card swapping

Pune: A 24-year-old woman Anjum Momin was cheated to the tune of Rs 38,000 after her SBI debit card was swapped by two unidentified persons who offered to help her at SBI ATM near Katraj bypass chowk. 

The woman has lodged a case of cheating at Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The police said that two youths told Anjum that they will help her in withdrawing cash from the ATM machine. By using hand tricks the suspects swapped the woman’s ATM card with another similar SBI ATM card and left from the spot.

By using hand tricks the suspects swapped the woman’s ATM card with another similar SBI ATM card and left from the spot.

The woman’s ATM card was then used to withdraw Rs 38,000 from her account by the suspect. Assistant Police Inspector C Suryavanshi is investigating the case.
