Woman killed while intervening in fight

According to the police, the deceased was trying to intervene between the accused who was her brother-in-law and her sister.

Pune: A 25-year-old woman was murdered while she intervened to stop a quarrel between her sister and brother-in-law. The incident occurred on Thursday at Bhunde Vasti in Bavdhan. 

The Hinjawadi police have booked the two accused including a minor and have arrested them on Friday. The accused have been identified as Hira Chavan, 30, a resident of Lamina Tanda in Sanjay Gandhi Vasti, Pashan and an unnamed minor boy.

The deceased has been identified as Munnibai Jadhav, a resident of Bhunde Vasti in Bavdhan. The deceased was the sister-in-law of the accused.

According to the police, the deceased was trying to intervene between the accused who was her brother-in-law and her sister.

Initially, they were quarrelling but later accused started beating up Laxmi Chavan, the wife of accused. While the deceased was trying to stop the fight, the minor boy hit the deceased with the iron blowpipe and the prime accused pushed her causing her severe injuries which led to death.
