Woman falls to death

Pune: A 28-year-old woman who had gone to visit an under construction building for buying a flat, fell down from the sixth floor and died. The incident took place on March 4 around 5.30 pm at Mantra Park View in Dhayari. It is being constructed by Mantra Properties company.

The deceased has been identified as Manasi Vishal Dabhade, a resident of Erandwane. Initially, Pune city police's Sinhgad road police station had registered a case of suspicious/accidental death. Now, after investigation an FIR has been registered against the project manager Nilesh Prakash Joshi (38) for offences under sections 304a (causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to Manasi's husband statement to police, they had gone to see a flat. “The hall does not has railing and on other side there was a duct on the sixth floor of A-1 building. Manasi was went a little ahead to see the gallery when the mango orchard infront of the gallery attracted her attention. After sometime, she lost balance and fell down while shouting my name”, Vishal told police.

Police officials said that the accused must have put safety nets and also should have put up boards indicating zones where people should not go.

Assistant Police Inspector Jyoti Gadkari is further investigating the case.
