Woman duped of Rs 18.16L in online fraud

Pune: A 52-year-old woman was duped of Rs 18.16 lakh by online fraudsters who syphoned off money from her account using phone banking. A case was registered at Hadapsar police station on Thursday.

Pune: A 52-year-old woman was duped of Rs 18.16 lakh by online fraudsters who syphoned off money from her account using phone banking. A case was registered at Hadapsar police station on Thursday.

According to the complaint filed by Nanda Choudhary, a resident of Magarpatta, some unknown fraudsters have syphoned off the provident fund amount of her husband deposited in her account by using her bank details. According to the Hadapsar police, the fraudsters syphoned off the money from the account of the victim in the period between September 2017 to June 2018. She discovered the fraud in June and reported it to the police. 

The police have registered a case of cheating and Cybercrime Act against the unknown accused.
