PUNE: A 48-year-old woman succumbed to head injuries caused when a branch of a tree fell on her head on Apte Road on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Jayshree Jagtap, a resident of Azadnagar, Kothrud. According to the Deccan police, the deceased was standing on the footpath when the incident took place.
The police said that they will take more information about the trees in the area from the concerned municipal corporation department.
In another incident, a 45-year-old woman, who was passing through Model Colony area was trapped after a tree fell on her on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred near Symbiosis Centre of Distance Learning.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Bharat Kshetry of Chatuhshrungi traffic police department rushed to the spot and rescued the woman who was unhurt.
