Woman cheated of  Rs 55K in loan fraud

A 36-year-old woman was cheated to the tune of Rs 55,000 by an unidentified person, who assured her a bank loan of Rs 5 lakh if she buys an insurance policy from him. The victim, who is a resident of Bibvewadi, has lodged a complaint of cheating at the Marketyard police station in the case.

Pune: A 36-year-old woman was cheated to the tune of Rs 55,000 by an unidentified person, who assured her a bank loan of Rs 5 lakh if she buys an insurance policy from him. The victim, who is a resident of Bibvewadi, has lodged a complaint of cheating at the Marketyard police station in the case. As per information given by the Marketyard police, the victim had recieved a phone call from an unidentified person on October 26, 2018. The caller informed the victim that if she buys an insurance policy, she can avail a Rs 5 lakh loan. The victim was enticed by the lucrative offer, after which the accused asked the victim to pay Rs 25,000 as deposit and Rs 30,000 as TDS. The victim did as instructed by the caller, only to find that she was duped. 

Following the incident, a case of cheating was lodged at Marketyard police station.
