Woman’s body found in Tamhini Ghat

Pune: A body of an unidentified 25-year-old woman was found dumped in Tamhini Ghat in Mauje village of Mulshi on Saturday. 
The deceased, who is yet to be identified, was wearing a red salwar suit and her body was in a white bag and wrapped in a pink bed sheet. 

Paud police said that there were no assault marks on the woman’s body and so police suspect that the woman was either strangulated or smothered to death.

Police have lodged a case of murder against an unidentified person in the case.

Police Inspector Suresh Nimbalkar of Paud police station said that the body was found near Plus Valley in Nive Dongarwadi area of Tamhini Ghat. 

“The woman was wearing a ‘mangalsutra’ and her nose ring and earrings were on her body. We suspect the body is about two or three days old,” added Nimbalkar. 

The police have appealed to the people to contact Paud police station if they have any details connected to the unidentified woman.
