Withdraw notices against Ganesh mandals: MNS

Pune: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) demanded the withdrawal of the notices given to the 35 Ganesh mandals for sound pollution during last Ganesh immersion procession.

MNS city unit president Ajay Shinde condemned the State government for issuing the notices to Ganesh mandals. He said that all these mandals were playing traditional music, which is dhol tasha. No one was playing the DJ systems, and even then, the police had filed cases against the Ganesh mandals and sent the notices after almost one year.

Shinde said that the State government is behaving against Hindu festivals and unnecessarily harassing the Ganesh mandals. MNS said that they are going to meet the commissioner of police and will request him to withdraw the notices. They have appealed to the State government not to torture the Ganesh mandals.
