PUNE: Abhinav Swaragarjana (Panvel) and Hanuman Tarun Mandal, Pirangut emerged winners in the final round of Sakal Dhol-Tasha Competition in urban and rural categories respectively. The final round was held on Thursday.
The two-day Sakal Dhol Tasha Mahotsav was organised in cooperation with Dhol Tasha Mahasangh, Pune, on the occasion of completion of 125 years of Ganesh festival. The programme was presented by Ranka Jewellers, powered by Tyzer, while Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd was the associate sponsor.
The first prize of Rs 1 lakh was presented to both the winners by Fatehchand Ranka, Director, Ranka Jewellers.
In the urban category, the Shivsamrajya Pathak won the second prize of Rs 75,000, while the Aitihasik Vadyapathak won the third prize of Rs 50,000.
In rural category, the Jainath Mandal was the first runner-up and Om Sai Mandal won the third place.
Before being presented with the awards, all participants gave their best performances in the final round. Percussionist Nilesh Parab, Girish Sardeshpande, Mahesh Molawade and Sahebrao Jadhav were the jury members for the competition.
Earlier, Vastupal Ranka and Ramesh Ranka, Directors of Ranka Jewellers, along with Kunal Marathe, Director of Tyzer, Sushil Jadhav, Zonal Manager of Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd, Kiran Thakur, Director, Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd and Bhausaheb Patil, Director of Operations, Sakal Media Group inaugurated the final round.
