Water release halts MahaMetro work

The officials said that the work of metro project on the river bank will stop for about a week and will resume once the water levels on the bank goes down.

PUNE: The release of water from Khadakwasla dam in Mutha river led to flooding of river banks and also halted the ongoing work of metro project on the Vanaaz to PMC corridor. 

The officials of the MahaMetro stopped the work and pulled out their machines from the river bank. Officials said that the work of metro project on the river bank will stop for about a week and will resume once the water levels on the bank goes down. 

Meanwhile, MahaMetro officials will be shifting the machinery to another site so that they maintain the pace of work. 

“We are in touch with officials from Irrigation Department and are taking timely updates on water release. We will start work again at the river bank after 8 to 10 days,” said officials from Mahametro.
