Water purification plant to be set up in Wagholi soon
Currently, the residents have to rely on bottled water
Pune: The water woes of Wagholi residents will soon end as Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is calling tenders for water purification plant in Wagholi soon.
PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte on Wednesday visited the area to look for a suitable site for the plant.
Gitte said that the tenders for running the purification plant will soon be called and the water problem of Wagholi will soon be resolved.
Currently, the residents have to rely on bottled water.
Gitte said that there was a massive rise in the number of societies in Wagholi and government body is gearing up to solve issues of these societies.
Recently, Guardian Minister Girish Bapat assured water supply scheme for 0.5 TMC ft for Wagholi and Pirangut.
The Water Resources Department has sanctioned 3 TMC water to PMRDA. The PMRDA has also started making provisions for water management in their area.
