War of words continues between BJP and NCP

Pimpri: The war of words between ruling BJP and the Opposition NCP in Pimpri-Chinchwad over the corruption charges against BJP leaders continued as NCP issued a press statement saying their party has nothing to do with complainant Pramod Sathe.

Sathe had lodged a complaint of corruption against BJP leaders on prime minister’s grievance portal. NCP city unit chief Sanjog Waghere alleged that Sathe is attached to Rashtriya Swaymsevak Sangh (RSS).

Waghere, in a press release, stated that since complainant belongs to RSS, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will definitely take cognisance of this complaint. BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap has alleged that the NCP has managed to lodged a false complaint through Sathe in prime minister’s grievance portal.

According to Jagtap, Sathe is a hardcore criminal and is connected to underworld crime syndicate. Waghere refuted this allegation. Waghere stated that a month ago, Pramod Sathe allegedly complained that the BJP office-bearers demanded three per cent amount for sanctioning payments.

“NCP has nothing to do with the complaint, but since the complaint is regarding corruption in PCMC, we are demanding an inquiry into it. As the complaint is of serious nature the complainant is likely to face threat. So we also demand that he should be given police protection,” the statement said.

Waghere said, “MLA Laxman Jagtap was in NCP a few years back. He is calling his former colleague in NCP a criminal. But everyone knows Jagtap himself appointed the person as Standing Committee
