Wakad police bust gang involved in Rs 18.47L theft
They are natives of Uttar Pradesh and had come together for the burglary
Pune: Sleuths from Wakad police station arrested four members of a gang which allegedly stole electronic goods worth Rs 18.47 lakh from a godown in Tathawade last month.
Though the police seized the truck used in the crime, they are yet to recover the booty.
The arrested accused were identified as Chinak Sahebrao Chaudhary (36) of Navi Mumbai, Chandbabu Mohammadsorab Sah (28) of Mumbai, Abdul Asif Kaluhaji Khan (36) of Kedgaon in Ahmednagar, and Baban Rambachchan Yadav (44) of Vasaiphata in Palghar district.

The theft came to light after the godown employees came to open it. Later the godown owner, Sarfaraz Nizamuddin Shaikh (40) lodged an FIR with Wakad police station. He runs an electronics shop in Camp.
The police said there was no security measures at the facility. The burglars broke the locks of one of the five shutters. There was no central lock, CCTV cameras or guards.
The burglars decamped with goods like air-conditioners, washing machines and refrigerators.
The four accused persons were arrested on Friday. Assistant Police Inspector DR Londhe is investigating the case.
