VPSEMS conducts eco-friendly Ganesh idol-making workshop

Pune: Eco-friendly Ganesh idol-making workshop was conducted by Vidya Pratishthan’s Someshwar English Medium School (VPSEMS) from August 16 to 23.

Students of Std VII and VIII participated in this activity where they understood the value of nature and how to preserve it.

They were also educated about the ill-effects of plaster of paris (POP) - commonly used for making idols - on the environment and pledged not to use it.

Students made Ganesh idol from the clay of ‘Shadu’ with great devotion, passion and by using their own creativity. It has been proven again that the old rituals of Indian culture are eco-friendly. Students were extremely excited to take the Ganesh idols prepared by them to their homes.

Principal Sachin Pathak praised the work and devotion of students. Students completed this workshop successfully under the guidance of Nirmala Pomane and Sadhana Shinde.
