Vivek Shivade of Giripremi set to attempt Mt Kilimanjaro summit

Shivade completed his B. Tech and M. Tech Engineering from IIT Bombay. He was groomed by Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee Umesh Zirpe.

Pune: City-based mountaineering club Giripremi member Vivek Shivade will try to summit Mount Kilimanjaro this month.
Previously, he successfully completed expeditions to Mount CB 13 (6,264 meters) in July and Mount Elbrus, (5,642 meters), the highest peak in Russia, in August. He is now set to leave for Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa at 5,895 meters.

Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering (GGIM) had organised the Mt Elbrus expedition in which Vivek led a group of eight participants. Five members, Jay Kolhatkar, Sachin Kanse, Vittal Hulyala, Shraddha Mehta and Prakash Yadav, summited the peak with him. Now, he will be leading a group of six members to Mount Kilimanjaro.

Shivade works as Senior Instructor at GGIM. He has completed his B. Tech and M. Tech Engineering from IIT Bombay. Shivade was groomed by veteran mountaineer and Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee Umesh Zirpe.
