Pune: City-based hotel Holiday Inn's Hotel Manager Vinay Chotalia has won the 'Best General Manager SWA 2017' award by IHG.
With 30 years experience, Vinay's work spans eight hotels of international repute.
Vinay started his career with Ramada Palm Grove, Juhu, Mumbai, at the front office. He worked in The Leela as an Assistant Manager (front office). He worked for 13 years in Mumbai. He gained initial insights about hotel front office operations and different markets.
He grew his career from the front office and eventually went on to become the Corp. Rooms Division Manager of The Pride Group of Hotels. During this period, he was also involved in expansion of Pride Hotels. He also opened Royal Orchid Hotel in Pune in 2006.
From 2006 to 2016, he has been working as General Manager of hotels like Cama Hotel, Ahmedabad, and Royal Orchid Hotel, Pune, and ITC Fortune, Pune. He has expertise of being cost effective and converting sick units into profit centres. He is the past president of Pune Hoteliers Association. When he joined Holiday Inn, Pune Hinjewadi, as Hotel Manager in March 2016, the green metrics was 3/10 and today he has been a great success with a green metrics of 10/10 for 2017.
