Various schools invited to join robotics competition

Pune: The India STEM Foundation is jointly organising the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2018 with National Council of Science Museum (NCSM) in July-end. 

World Robot Olympiad India (WRO India) is one of the largest robotics competition in India for students in the age group of 9 to 25 years, held since 2006. 

The last date for registration this year is July 10 for regular elementary and junior category, August 10 for remaining categories.

The last date for registration this year is July 10 for regular elementary and junior category, August 10 for remaining categories.

The competitions are tentatively scheduled to begin from July-end in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Kolkata, Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun and Delhi NCR.

The key objectives of this Olympiad are to build scientific temperament and 21st century skills in students and foster an 
eco-system of tinkering aimed at promoting innovative and creative thinking. 

The theme for WRO 2018 is ‘Food Matters’.
Various schools across the country are invited to enter the contest as a team of three students to participate. 

Participating teams need to create, design and build a robot model that looks or behaves like a human athlete.
