UGC SET will be held on June 30

PUNE: The University Grants Commission’s (UGC) State Eligibility Test (SET) will be held on June 30. The UGC has appointed Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to conduct this examination for Maharashtra and Goa. SET is the eligibility test for assistant professors at colleges and universities in Maharashtra and Goa. This year a new pattern for SET has been introduced.

So far SET would consist of three papers for a total of 350 marks, but this time it will consist of two papers for 300 marks. The first paper will consist of 50 questions for 100 marks and second paper will have 100 questions for 200 marks. 

SPPU has yet not finalised on the dates, as soon as the SPPU fixes upon it, it will be notified through their website, informed Head of SET, Balasaheb Kapadnis. Authorities have also informed that this will be last year to conduct the exam in offline mode. From next year onwards the exam will go online. 

Furthermore, candidates’ online applications will be linked with Aadhaar card. “University has taken a call in order to avoid any kind of malpractices during the exam. Therefore, candidates will have to link their Aadhaar details,” said Kapadnis.

The university will soon open its window for online applications and its details of how to fill the forms for candidates on its website by end of January 2019.
