The KYC website was launched by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2014 to help students get all required information regarding colleges they need at a click. Pune: The University Grant Commission (UGC) has notified all colleges and institutions to update a clear and accurate data about their colleges on ‘Know Your College’ (KYC) website as many colleges have not yet uploaded their data on the portal.

The KYC website was launched by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2014 to help students get all required information regarding colleges they need at a click. The website will enable students to know about faculty, laboratories, library and other facilities available in the college to allow students to choose the best college.

However, UGC recently released a circular stating that many institutions have not uploaded the data about their respective institutions on the website.  Addressing all Vice-Chancellors of Universities, Secretary of UGC, Jaspal Sandhu said, “Keeping in view the importance of KYC portal, I seek your personal indulgence in the matter and request you to upload the accurate data about your esteemed institution on KYC portal which should be updated periodically and also ensure the same in your affiliated institutions and help the government in successfully achieving this student-friendly initiative.”

The website is monitored by MHRD and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Moreover, many college portal links uploaded on the website were not opening and showed technical errors.
