“This counter would, thus, provide this facility and benefit nearly 1,000 individuals and offer them comfort at their doorstep. It would also benefit around 8,000 ex-servicemen residing nearby,” an officer said.

PUNE: A counter of udChalo, a leading travel company providing ease to last minute travel problems of the Indian Armed Forces personnel, started functioning at the Army Institute of Physical Training (AIPT), Hadapsar, from last Saturday. The establishment is a compounded complex with around 500 army personnel along with their families residing inside.

According to officials, about 300 officers, JCOs and jawans come on courses ranging from one to three months to AIPT located on Pune-Solapur Road. The heavily-packed course regimen barely permits them any time at leisure to go out, even to attend to their personal needs, especially return; even onward journey reservations for the training staff and their wards.
