Uber starts cab service at Pune Railway station

Pune: The Pune railway division has granted space to Uber, an app-based cab service, at the pick-up point at the premises. Uber has won the bid, which was floated a month ago.

“The division has started the cab service at Pune station for the purpose of providing additional facilities to the passengers. This facility, launched by Uber, can be booked by travellers with both pre-bookings and spot bookings. Many cabs will be available at one time at the railway station premises for this purpose.

“The division has started the cab service at Pune station for the purpose of providing additional facilities to the passengers. This facility, launched by Uber, can be booked by travellers with both pre-bookings and spot bookings. Many cabs will be available at one time at the railway station premises for this purpose.

Passengers, who have to book a taxi through smartphone, can already ensure their journey. Those who want to take advantage of this service after arrival on the station, can also book their cab by visiting the Uber Booth on lane number three.”

Divisional Railway Manager Milind Debaskar informed that due to the commencement of this facility, the passengers will definitely benefit.According to the senior official of the commercial department, “Railways has floated tenders for this purpose and our price started with Rs 36 lakh. 

Uber bid for Rs 71 lakh. The space will be given to Uber for three years and each year Uber will pay Rs 71 lakh.
