Two women made away with gold chain from Jewelry shop

According to Samarth police station, both the women seem to be habitual offenders and have committed the crime with expertise. They entered the shop when there was rush and pretended to buy a mangalsutra. After conversing with the salesman on the counter for some time, they managed to steal the mangalsutra and fled from the spot.

Pune: Two unidentified women stole a gold chain worth Rs 70,000 from a jewellery shop on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place at Parmar Jewellers, situated at Rasta Peth. A case in this regard was registered at Samarth police station.

According to the complaint registered by the shop owner, the women entered the shop on pretext of purchasing ornaments and made away with the gold chain. The crime was recorded on CCTV cameras and was reported to the police.

They entered the shop when there was rush and pretended to buy a mangalsutra. After conversing with the salesman on the counter for some time, they managed to steal the mangalsutra and fled from the spot.

Police are trying to identify them with the help of CCTV footage and have booked them under sections 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 379 (Punishment for theft) of IPC.
