Two teens attacked with sharp-edged weapons

Pune: Two teenagers were attacked with sharp-edged weapons on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday in Kondhwa. The police have booked three suspects, who are absconding.

One of the accused was identified as Arbaaz whereas the other two are unidentified. The motive for the attack was a minor argument which occurred on Tuesday night at Navale Bridge in Ambegaon. The complainant Jason Jacob, 19, and his friend Joya Sheikh were verbally abused by Arbaaz on Tuesday night so they reported the incident to his family members. This didn’t go down well with Arbaaz and he planned with two of his friends to attack Jacob and Shaikh.

According to Kondhwa police, “On Wednesday night Arbaaz and two of his accomplices confronted Jacob and Shaikh near Buddha Vihar Society in Kondhwa and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons. Severe injuries were inflicted on both victims, who were later admitted to a private hospital.” Kondhwa police have registered a case under section 307 against the accused.
