Two persons killed in an accident on Mumbai-Pune Highway near Kamshet

Pune: Two persons died and two others were seriously injured after two trailer trucks collided head-on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Kamshet around Saturday midnight. The accident affected traffic for five hours. 

The deceased were identified as driver Shahbaz Kaleem (24) and cleaner Feroz Shaikh (25), both from Karnataka. Those injured are Birendra Singh and Shriman Singh, both natives of Madhya Pradesh. They are undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The driver of the trailer truck going towards Mumbai lost control over the wheels and the vehicle crossed over the median and hit another trailer truck going towards Pune.

The IRB team managed to move the crane there and removed the trailer trucks by 4.30 am. There were long lines of vehicles for several kilometers.
