Two persons DUPED online

A 47-year-old businessman was cheated to the tune of Rs 52,616 after his credit card details were used by a fraudster to book air tickets from different airways. Police Inspector S Patil of Lonikand police station said that on Thursday morning the complainant received two messages stating that Rs 43,166 was used to book tickets from Emirates airlines. Later he received a message that Rs 9,500 was used to book tickets from Etihad airlines

Pune: A 47-year-old businessman was cheated to the tune of Rs 52,616 after his credit card details were used by a fraudster to book air tickets from different airways. Police Inspector S Patil of Lonikand police station said that on Thursday morning the complainant received two messages stating that Rs 43,166 was used to book tickets from Emirates airlines. Later he received a message that Rs 9,500 was used to book tickets from Etihad airlines. He filed a case at the  Lonikand police station. The police have booked unidentified person under sections of cheating and IT Act. In another case, one Ram Indore was cheated to the tune of Rs 21,619 after his credit card details were used to buy mobile phones worth Rs 21,619.  The case came to light after Indore received a call from his bank stating that his bank balance is nill. It came as a shock for Indore who found that the amount was used to buy mobile phones. The complainant has lodged a case at Manchar police station.
