Two persons detained with bullets at airport

Pune: A businessman and a railway loco pilot were detained at the Pune airport when live rounds were found in their bags on Thursday morning.
 
According to Vimantal (Airport) police, one of them had a ticket of Indigo the other a SpiceJet ticket. A businessman from Jalgaon district was going to Bengaluru by SpiceJet, when the airline staff detected 22 bullets of .32 calibre pistol. As he could not produce any valid document, he was handed over to Pune city police’s Vimantal police station for legal action.

In another incident, IndiGo airline staffers found two 9 mm bullets in the bag of a passenger who was to board a Delhi-bound flight. He too was  handed over to the police. He is a railway loco pilot and hails from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
 
Senior Police Inspector Dilip Shinde, in-charge of the police station, said that as of now no case has been registered and they were let go after station diary entry.

“The businessman produced a valid weapon licence. Hwoever, our enquiry is on about verifying the document of the railway loco pilot from whose bag two bullets of 9 mm revolver were found. Further action will be taken based on inquiry report,” Shinde added.
