Two nabbed for stealing LPG from cylinders

Pune: Sleuths from Crime Branch unit 3 have nabbed two employees of a gas agency for allegedly stealing LPG from cylinders before selling them to customers. The police have seized 33 cylinders and a pipe which was used for stealing gas. 

The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Bhawarlal Nain (23) and Dinesh Chennaram Jani (19), both natives of Rajasthan, who worked with Shriram Gas Agency, Bopodi. The accused resided in Pimple Gurav here.

The Crime Branch officials had received information that the accused were stealing LPG from gas cylinders at Mula Road in Khadki on Friday. Accordingly, a team reached there and nabbed the duo red-handed at 2.30 pm. The police have seized their van, 33 cylinders, a pipe used for stealing gas, receipt books, totally worth Rs 3.29 lakh from the accused persons. 

The investigation team included Inspector Sitaram More, and policemen Shivandan Swami, Rohidas Lawande, Gunshilam Rangam, Mahendra Pawar, Gajanan Ganbote, Adinath Kale, Sandip Talekar, Sandip Rathod and Kalpesh Bansode.
