Pune: Sleuths from the Social Security Cell of Pune city police rescued two minor girls who were forced into prostitution in the red light area of Budhwar Peth.

Acting on a tip-off received by NGO Freedom Firm, the raid was conducted on Wednesday. One of the girls aged 17-year-old from Uttar Pradesh was earlier rescued from Miraj in Sangli district on December 8.

But a pimp forced her to flee from there on December 24 and again forced her into prostitution. Now both the girls have been kept at a shelter home in Hadapsar.  The other girl is from Kolkata.
