Two injured in leopard attack

Pune: Two persons were injured after they were allegedly attacked by a leopard in wee hours of Thursday in Divale village of Bhor. The injured persons were identified as Suresh Jagtap (54) and Kiran Pangare (32).

According to officials of the Forest Department, Suresh was sleeping in his house when the incident took place. At 1.30 am one of the leopards entered Suresh’s home and attacked him. Suresh fought back and suffered injuries on his hands. He was taken to the regional hospital by officials of the Forest Department. Three animals were also injured in the attack by leopard in Divale village.
In the second incident, Kiran Pagare who was sleeping outside his home was attacked by another leopard in Loharvasti. Kiran  suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment on Thursday morning. 

As in February, three leopards were found dead in the same village, the locals have sought the help of the Forest Department to trap these leopards. Officials of the Forest Department are investigating this case.

The three leopards were found dead in the fields of Divale village and officials suspect they died due to poisoning.
